Accounts Payable Specialist

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a client in the area. This role is responsible for processing checks and electronic payments accurately and on time while supporting the Accounts Payable team with payment scheduling, documentation, and reporting.

$27-$28/hr

Key Responsibilities

  • Process urgent checks as needed.
  • Follow established schedules for check runs and electronic payments.
  • Review payment batches and identify invoices for payment.
  • Research and flag invoices requiring correction.
  • Process payments according to due dates and approved requests.
  • Verify reconciliations and payment amounts before processing.
  • Prepare overnight checks and wire transfers for approval.
  • Coordinate check distribution and ensure supporting documentation is included.
  • Process stop payments for voided checks.
  • Maintain check stock and envelope inventory.
  • Assist with other accounting-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous Accounts Payable experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with document management systems is a plus.
